Parachute - Hayley Williams cover

Hayley Williams’ ‘Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party’ has captivated me for the past few months. Its resounding success in the face of an innovative surprise drop with no tracklist, its independent release on Hayley’s own label, and it’s discussion of community, gentrification and generational trauma has demonstrated the continued relevance of deeply personal and political music in today’s music landscape, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.

While constructing this cover of the heart wrenching bonus track ‘parachute’, I couldn’t help but mash in some elements from Paramore’s album ‘After Laughter’ that reference similar anxieties about both personal and parasocial relationships. I hope you like it!!
