I still haven’t recovered from the city walls video, but after a nap (lol) I figured I’d finish editing and post this cover of intentions I recorded last night. I couldn’t help but add a few harmonies, but the lead vocals and keys were recorded live in the same take as this video.

Despite being in the UK, I got access to breach on Australian time, and was immediately obsessed with intentions. In addition to the more obvious reversed instrumental, the vocal melody of the song also lines up with truce. The self-referential, cyclical, genius of the songwriting and production is a testament to the love and dedication that’s been poured into the entire project that Twenty One Pilots have created, that I’ve been lucky to watch unfold for almost 10 years.

To me, the ending of the lore was equally gutwrenching and comforting. No matter what, the sun will rise and we will try again. we will try to be better, with the best intentions |-/
